Disposition Book Tour
NAID CEO Bob Johnson has announced plans to be on the road
promoting the association’s new Information Disposition textbook
in 2018 in order to demonstrate its broader application.
“As the project evolved,” says Johnson, “we quickly realized
the textbook had valued beyond the CSDS training and higher
education. A significant portion of existing sales have come from
information management and security professionals and risk
managers looking to improve their vendor selection, RFPs and
Included among those to whom Johnson intends to carry the
message are records managers, IT asset managers, and privacy,
security and data compliance professionals.
According to NAID’s
Director of Marketing and
Martinez, NAID members
have an important role to
play in the barnstorming
initiative. “Many members
have active relationships
with professionals of this
nature and therefore can
help us find opportunities to
present to them. We know
these groups are always
looking for speakers and
educational content, and
due to his involvement
with NAID and as the author of the book, we expect Bob will be

Bylaws Amendments Ratified
The NAID Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the voting
member representatives have ratified two ( 2) bylaws amendments.
Below are the full details of these changes.
Amendment #1 converts the existing Vendor Liaison to the NAID
Board of Directors to a voting director, and makes provisions for
the association’s Associate members to elect that position. The
amendment is budget neutral insofar reasonable travel expenses
for the existing Vendor Liaison post are already covered.
Rational for Recommended Change
This amendment creates a director’s position on the board to
represent NAID Associate members. Currently, there is a vendor
liaison but the post is advisory only. The new director post would
give Associate members voting representation on board. There is
no increase in expenses to the association in making this change.
